Some years ago while visiting Carbondale, Colorado, Richard had lunch with Robert Minor, owner of Business World Brokers. They had built a relationship of trust and enjoyed each others company. Over time Robert and Richard decided they would have more impact as partners than as competitors. Richard is now licensed with Business World Brokers and Colorado Business Listings is the Front Range Brokerage Office for the union of the two companies.

After graduating from Bradley University and his honorable discharge from the US Army, Richard started, grew and ultimately sold his apparel manufacturing and service businesses based in New York; Lima, Peru; Bogota, Colombia and Guatemala City, Guatemala. After accomplishing that and firmly believing that it is best to work where you play, he came with his wife and children to Louisville, Colorado. He quickly built a successful home improvement business which he sold – having stuck to his 6 year plan. Seeing the business broker’s place in the sale process of his company, Grout Tek,  peaked his interest, so he bought a piece of the brokerage company that got his business sold. This led to a specialty in connecting business sellers with buyers and acquisition-minded buyers with sellers. He has acted as coach/advisor/mentor helping business owners plan tactically and strategically focusing on their business plans, succession plans and value growth.

Using his well developed understanding of business valuations, Richard has contracted to give valuation studies for companies seeking partners, companies for sale, and companies implementing strategies for organic growth or growth through acquisition. He is a member of CABI – Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries and holds an active Real Estate License in the state of Colorado.
